I was on a high school field trip to a science laboratory safety tutorial workshop, which all just took place right at school, on a gray cloudy day. Apparently all of the students go through this every year, but this was my first time, so I felt inept and pressured. One of our first trials involved evacuating a large warehouse during a flash flood. We initially had to slide a thin piece of metal through a stopwatch and pull it to activate the timer at the moment the flood begins. Water filled in everywhere suddenly, and according to my stopwatch, I made it out of the lab in 10 seconds out of a 15 second limit. The water never really receded for the rest of the day, so many of the other trials involved swimming and floating. For one trial we all had to be transported somewhere, and there were several black minivans for us to pile into. The van I approached was full of black kids, and they would not let me in. Mom called my cellphone and told me I had to be home for something by 8 pm, but she explained it so vaguely that I got angry and began yelling "WHAT" many times. It was now evening, and the time has come for the final trial, a culmination of everything we learned today. Everyone chose a specific animal to be affiliated with for this event, and they might have also turned into their animals. I was a lion. The final trial was to race across the surface of the water, and there was very little explanation after that. Speeding across the surface of the lake near sunset, I observed many points where some fish were sequentially jumping out of the water in a slow perfect arch, much like in Katamari Damacy. Obviously I was supposed to go through the fish rings. I made it through several, but probably not enough. I finally reached land, which was a series of irregular jutting stone platforms surrounded by jungle. As a lion, I felt much more at home here. There was a wooden bridge joining two jutting rocks, which I knew I had to cross. A gazebo was at the end of the bridge. However, this was a decoy gazebo, masquerading as the end goal. I wearily crossed more water and soon found another similar bridge, at the end of which was a more decorous gazebo. I entered it fast, barely staying on the bridge, and I was teleported somewhere. All I could see now was a status screen displaying my rank in the water race as well as some info about the other student animals.
